This underwater retelling of the three little pigs story catches the eye with its shiny cover and bold colors. The digital illustrations are reminiscent of feature film animation, and sure to delight. The story is simple and familiar, with straw, sticks, and bricks replaced by seaweed, sand, and a wrecked ship. Young readers will enjoy joining in the watery refrain: “not by the skin of my finny fin fin!” All the characters make it out okay, with the shark losing his teeth in the last attack. While the font is fun and sits well on the page, it may be difficult for beginners to read.
